Marta is a user experience designer and wasn’t entirely convinced by the idea of barefoot shoes – at least not at first. It was her husband who took the first step – quite literally. He was enthusiastic from the start, and that curiosity rubbed off on her. What followed was a surprisingly easy transition to a new way of walking.

Scepticism turns to curiosity

Like many others, Marta was hesitant. She had no foot problems or specific reason to switch. But when she saw how happy her husband was with his shoes, she thought it might be worth a try.

"Okay, maybe I should just try it and see how it goes."

She started with a sporty pair for running and training, and immediately felt the difference.

"It was a completely different experience. I could actually feel the ground – even the grass."

An unexpected first walk

The real test came unexpectedly. Marta had just received her second pair and wore them to work. She missed her bus and had to walk 25 minutes to the office – in brand-new shoes.

Normally, that would mean sore feet and regret. But this time was different.

"I had no problems. My feet were so happy. I arrived without any pain. That has never happened with other shoes."

A natural transition

Now she is on her third pair. Marta recently got a pair of winter barefoot shoes and is still surprised by the comfort and the different feel.

It wasn’t about solving a problem or making a big decision. It was just about trying something new – and seeing where it led.

"It’s just something you have to try and feel for yourself – with your own eyes and feet."

Sometimes, that’s all it takes.
